Social media has transformed the way we consume content online, and has opened a path towards direct interaction with sports teams and even their owners (in some cases), workers, and mascots.
Yes, mascots.
Atlanta Braves mascot Blooper had some time to roast a New York Mets fan on Twitter.
Blooper sent a tweet, and one of the replies was from a Mets fan saying “Nice L homie”, making fun of the fact that the Braves dropped Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Despite a late three-run home run by Matt Olson, Nick Castellanos and Zach Eflin combined to avoid further damage and the Phils were able to hold on for the win.
“Good game from the Phillies. Mets fans, your game will be on in March,” Blooper hilariously replied to that comment.
Roasted!
The user in question, @TitanUpTy, then said “sorry couldn’t watch. Mets don’t play in a secondary market,” referencing the early afternoon time of the Braves – Phillies clash and how the Mets often play closer to primetime.
But Blooper wanted to have the last word: “they don’t play for the rest of the year actually,” the mascot said.

Roasted.
The Mets actually wasted a 10.5-game lead and lost the top spot in the NL East after being swept by the Braves in the last weekend of the regular season.
Atlanta made it directly to the Division Series, while the Mets had to risk elimination in the Wild Card round and were knocked out in three games by the San Diego Padres.
Mets and Braves fans have been having these exchanges ever since that pivotal series.
They will be fighting for the NL East for years to come.
