Austin Riley is staying in Atlanta for a long time.
Yesterday, the Atlanta Braves gave him a 10-year, $212 million contract extension.
Riley was one player who had lost his arbitration case earlier in the season, but it appears that that situation is now water under the bridge.
Riley is getting a good paycheck for this contract.
However, there’s one fan on Twitter who thinks Riley isn’t getting a good enough deal and that he should fire his agent.
Braves insider David O’Brien quickly put the fan back in his place though, citing that Riley grew up a Braves fan and isn’t too far away from his home in Mississippi, and that he’s getting the chance to play for the team he loves for $212 million.
Right, for getting him $212M guaranteed to play for the team he loves, for a consistent World Series contender in the South, close enough for his friends and family to drive from Mississippi to see him play and for him and his wife to drive home to Mississippi when they want to. https://t.co/9i5qe52OVV

Fan Shut Down With Facts
This fan tried to make a point, but he was instantly shut down with logic and facts.
This is a good deal for a guy like Riley.
He grew up in Braves country and rooted for the Braves his whole life.
Now, he gets a chance to play for them for the next 10 years for $212 million guaranteed.
It’s clear that this fan did not do his homework when it came to looking at the contract Riley is receiving from the Braves.
This fan has a lot of learning to do if he believes that Riley should fire his agent.
O’Brien had the facts and the logic to put the fan right back in his place.
Now, Riley will be a Brave for the foreseeable future.
We’ll see if this fan learns his lesson anytime soon about arguing over whether or not a player should fire his agent.
