The Los Angeles Chargers finished the 2022 regular season with a 10-7 record, which not only secured them a playoff berth but was their best regular season record since 2018.
Even though the Chargers were able to find success this season, coach Brandon Staley might have made a critical error, putting himself on the hot seat.
If the Chargers lose this game because Brandon Staley played his starters in a meaningless game…oh boy. https://t.co/GZ5SpDeCeh

This past weekend, the Chargers played their starters, even though they had nothing to play for.
They had already secured a playoff spot, and win or lose, their playoff seeding was still locked in.
Unfortunately for Staley and the Chargers, star wide receiver Mike Williams re-aggravated an injury in this game, and will now miss two to three weeks, depending on how he can heal from his injury.
Not a good look for Staley, whose coaching practices have been called into question multiple times in his short tenure as the leader of the Chargers.
Staley came to the Chargers from the Los Angeles Rams and is one of the many coaches who have come from Sean McVay’s tutelage.
However, both Staley and McVay are in hot water at the moment.
Staley’s future as the coach of the Chargers may depend on their performance this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
If they struggle on offense, one reason for this could be due to a lack of Williams, one of their best receivers.
Quarterback Justin Herbert will be tested by the surprisingly staunch Jaguars defense, including star players like linebacker Josh Allen.
Tune in on Saturday night, which could be Staley’s last game as a head coach for the Chargers.
