On Tuesday, the San Francisco Giants got to enjoy a special moment when rookie infielder Casey Schmitt hit his first career home run, which also happened to be his first career hit.
Schmitt was recently called up to the Major Leagues thanks to several injury issues that are plaguing the Giants.
One player who is currently on the shelf is shortstop Brandon Crawford.
The veteran shortstop has been with the team since 2011 and has won two World Series titles during his tenure in San Francisco.
When Schmitt returned to the clubhouse after the Giants defeated the Nationals on Tuesday night, Crawford was the first to greet him, as he opened the door and showered his new teammate with love.
Gotta love that Brandon Crawford is one of the guys to open the door for Schmitt. #SFGiants https://t.co/uej3RxYaxy

Crawford was once in Schmitt’s shoes.
The veteran shortstop and two-time World Series champion has certainly been through a lot over the course of his career.
And so, it was only fitting that he opened the door for Schmitt and began the celebration after the game.
Schmitt was starting at the shortstop position, which is usually occupied by Crawford.
However, with Crawford on the injured list, Schmitt was given a chance to play a little more frequently.
But Crawford showed some support for his new teammate, understanding the thrill of the moment when a young player hits their first career home run.
The 36-year-old is currently dealing with a right calf strain and is unable to participate on the field, but with this act of support, he only further cemented himself as a veteran leader in the Giants clubhouse.
