Bobby Wagner is one of the greatest players in Seattle Seahawks history.
The 2012 second-round pick made eight All-Pro teams and eight Pro Bowls in his tenure and won a Super Bowl with one of the greatest defensive units in NFL history.
That is why it is so jarring to think of him suiting up for another NFL team.
Yet that is the reality now that both he and Russell Wilson were let go by the Seahawks.
In Wagner’s case, he was released by the team.
Unfortunately, he sent out a tweet that revealed the ugly way the process played out.
Crazy part about all this. I played there for 10 years & I didn’t even hear it from them that I wasn’t coming back.

“Crazy part about all this. I played there for 10 years & I didn’t even hear it from them that I wasn’t coming back,” Wagner tweeted.
He gave a decade of his life to the franchise and likely found out the news like fans at home did.
Seahawks Starting A New Era Without Wilson And Wagner
The Seahawks are in a curious position after moving on from two foundational franchise stars.
Yet it’s possible they are gearing up for a Deshaun Watson trade, or another move that prevents a total, outright rebuild from taking place.
It is just a bad look for the team to dump a franchise legend and not let him know right away.
Wagner is now a top free agent and should be able to continue his success elsewhere in the NFL.
He was just named a second-team All-Pro in 2021, so it’s not like he is showing signs of slowing down after a decade in the league.
He may also be on a mission to prove to the Seahawks that they made a huge mistake.
