Sometimes, a certain player can be a good luck charm for their team.

Their mere presence is enough to give their team a boost for that day.

Such is the case for the Toronto Blue Jays whenever right-hander Alek Manoah takes the ball for them.

The 24-year-old right-hander is 2-0 to start the 2022 season and has posted a 1.50 ERA in 12 innings of work.

But it gets even better for the Blue Jays, who have quite an impressive mark when Manoah starts for them.

Manoah has made 22 career starts, 18 of which the Blue Jays have won.

Also, they have a nice little streak going, having won all of Manoah’s previous 10 starts.

A Good Luck Charm

This is an impressive feat the Blue Jays have accomplished thus far.

Manoah is one of the top young right-handers in the game and has provided the Blue Jays rotation, and entire roster for that matter, with a spark.

Again, sometimes a certain player spells good luck for your team.

This seems to be the case with Manoah and the Blue Jays.

Toronto’s rotation is stacked as it is, even with Hyun-Jin Ryu on the shelf with a forearm injury.

Manoah just provides them with another young and viable option in their rotation and somebody who seems to give them that extra push when he is out on the mound.

The man can pitch.

That much is clear.

Manoah is 11-2 in his 22 career starts with an impressive 3.06 ERA.

He’s also struck out 140 batters in 123 2/3 innings pitched.

We’ll see if Manoah can continue to be a spark plug for the Blue Jays as the season progresses.

All streaks eventually end, so let’s just see how long this one lasts.
