There is a new, exciting development in Damar Hamlin‘s recovery.
The Buffalo Bills organization received a fantastic update from Hamlin himself this morning.
This is amazing: For the first time, #Bills S Damar Hamlin is addressing the team via Facetime. The breathing tube is out, and he’s spent the morning speaking to various teammates on Facetime. Now, he’s delivering a message to the entire group, I’m told.

Hamlin’s breathing tube is out, and he can speak freely for the first time in four days.
Reporting has emerged this morning that Hamlin has been talking to multiple teammates via Facetime, and will also be giving a group message to all of his teammates.
Hearing this news has to be uplifting for the entire Bills organization, along with NFL media as a whole.
Hamlin has been the subject of all media outlets over the past few days, and the world has been watching and waiting to see how he would respond to treatment after his injury.
Not only is Hamlin breathing on his own, a feat that many believed to be impossible, but he’s talking, just four days after his injury.
This is simply something to marvel at.
If we were a member of the New England Patriots on Sunday, we would be terrified to play the Bills.
Not only are they still fighting for the AFC’s top overall seed in the playoffs, but they will all be ready to run through walls, considering that they have been able to speak with Hamlin today.
In an unprecedented event, the best possible outcome has occurred.
Whether Hamlin will ever play another snap in the NFL is irrelevant at this point.
All that matters is that he is alive, alert, and able to live another day.
What a story.
