Bill Belichick had to hear all the noise last year about how he was carried to success by Tom Brady for the span of two decades.
Brady left and won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Belichick and the New England Patriots missed the postseason with Cam Newton at quarterback.
The situation is obviously much more complex and this year Belichick is out to prove he is indeed a GOAT himself just like Brady.
The head coach made the decision to draft Mac Jones with a first-round pick and the result has been a 6-4 start that has the Patriots in prime position for the postseason.
This start also has Belichick with some real odds to win NFL Coach of the Year.

He is not the overwhelming favorite, yet, but if he keeps winning he may be a lock for the honor.
A Great Coaching Performance
The Week 10 matchup against the Cleveland Browns proved why Belichick is invaluable when it comes to his coaching.
He made Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski look like a middle school coach en route to a 45-7 victory.

The Browns defense could not stop the Patriots offense all game and the New England defense held Baker Mayfield to 73 yards.
The Browns are supposed to be a top AFC contender and the Patriots made them look worse than the New York Jets.
Coaching was a huge factor why that happened and also why the rookie Jones is looking like a veteran quarterback on a weekly basis.
Belichick has won Coach of the Year honors three times, with the latest win coming back in 2010.
After that Brady started to get more of the attention, along with Belichick’s assistants.
This time around he is proving he has been the constant in New England all along.
