With an 0-2 record, the New England Patriots are in serious need of a win as they prepare to head to North Jersey to take on the New York Jets this weekend.
They seem to have just enough talent to seriously contend for at least a Wild Card playoff spot in the AFC, but so far, they have failed to get a whole lot out of that talent.
Head coach Bill Belichick recently told the media that his team has brought quarterback Will Grier on board while announcing that cornerback Marcus Jones has been put on the injured list, via NBC Sports Boston.

Grier was a third-round draft choice by the Carolina Panthers in 2019, and as a rookie, he threw for 228 yards, zero touchdowns, and four interceptions while completing 28 of 52 passes in two games.
Since then, he has had stints on the practice squads of the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals.
Jones had an outstanding rookie season last year, notching 362 punt return yards and 645 kick return yards, as well as seven passes defended and two interceptions.
That production earned him a spot on the All-Pro First Team as a punt returner.
Both of New England’s losses so far have come by seven points or less, and although quarterback Mac Jones, now in his third season, is playing reasonably well so far, they have multiple deficiencies to shore up.
Their running game has been very deficient, and the Jets rank No. 1 in rushing touchdowns allowed.
If the Patriots lose yet again, they will be very hard-pressed to reach the postseason for just the second time since Tom Brady’s departure following the 2019 campaign.
