The 2022 NFL season has been filled with blockbuster moves.

However, there are plenty that fell below the radar that are worthy of mention and for fans to keep a close eye on during the upcoming season.

Three of those underrated moves are listed below in ascending order.

3. JuJu Smith-Schuster, Wide Receiver

The Kansas City Chiefs baffled many when they traded superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins during the 2022 offseason.

Hill leaves huge shoes to fill, and Patrick Mahomes needs a steady and speedy target that he can trust.

Enter JuJu Smith-Schuster, formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers; he is the next man up.

Smith-Schuster only played five games in 2021 for the Steelers before going out with an injury that resulted in season-ending shoulder surgery.

He is eager for a career resurgence especially on a big stage like Arrowhead Stadium.

2017 was his only season with over 1,000 yards receiving (1,426 to be exact).

Hill had over 1,200 yards receiving in both 2020 and 2021 so Smith-Schuster needs to leap up the learning curve on this new offense quickly.

Following the Cheetah is a tall order, and if Smith-Schuster can successfully do it, things will be very interesting in Kansas City in 2022.

2. Morgan Moses, Offensive Tackle

Few people pay close attention to linemen switching teams.

However, an experienced and steady contributor did that in the 2022 offseason.

Morgan Moses moves from the New York Jets to the Baltimore Ravens for the 2022 season.

He only played for the Jets for one season; his career started in Washington where he played for seven seasons.

Moses is an eight-year veteran who is both sturdy and effective.

The #Ravens are signing former Washington and #Jets RT Morgan Moses to a 3-year, $15M deal. He has started 16 games in seven straight seasons.

He credits yoga and a good diet for keeping him healthy enough to play in every regular-season game since 2015.

Moses took over 90% of the offensive snaps in those seasons.

He has only committed 54 penalties in his 121 career games.

Moses is very eager after years of protecting many quarterbacks in both Washington and New York to have the stability and consistency of Lamar Jackson under center.

AFC North competitors should take note; the Ravens’ offensive line just got tougher.

1. Sebastian Joseph-Day, Defensive Tackle

Imagine switching from one Los Angeles football team to another?

That is exactly what Sebastian Joseph-Day is doing.

Joseph-Day is staying home in a big way including in the same home stadium.

He jumps from the Super Bowl Champion Rams to the Los Angeles Chargers where he reunites with his former Rams defensive coordinator who is now the Chargers head coach Brandon Staley.

This reunion is exactly what attracted Joseph-Day to the Chargers.

After he signed with the Chargers, he said:

“What brought me to the Chargers, obviously, was my awesome relationship with Coach Staley. His philosophy, his mindset of the game…The relationship that we built — him caring for who you are as a person, not just as a player, makes you want to ride for that guy. You don’t just want to play your best for yourself, but also for a guy like him.”

One big problem with the Chargers in 2021 was their defense, and a healthy Joseph-Day along with another former Staley player, Khalil Mack, can help with that.

First Mack, now Sebastian Joseph-Day…Staley clearly bringing in his guys….

If this means no Davis at #17 (sad!)….LB? RT?

— Mina Kimes (@minakimes) March 15, 2022

Joseph-Day got off to a great start in 2021 but only played seven regular-season games last season because he was dealing with a torn pectoral muscle that required surgery.

All three of these players will be fun to watch with their new teams when September rolls around.
