Ben Simmons of the Brooklyn Nets only has a few months – at best – to make things right with fans around the league and remind people that he can play ball.
There has been a lot of negative press about him over the last year and a lot of harsh opinions have been formed regarding the former Philadelphia 76ers star.
People say that he’s lacking talent, that his heart isn’t in the game, and that he’s already washed up at such a young age.
Meanwhile, Simmons and his supporters claim he is about to have a massive comeback season.

Hopefully, the season will go better than the shot he took the other day.
Simmons was alongside Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and other Nets members at a public court in New York recently.
It was a fun event that got them some good press and allowed them to interact with the community.
At the end of the event, Simmons playfully put up a shot – and completely missed the mark.
This was an embarrassing airball, even for such a casual event.
It definitely didn’t inspire much faith in fans of the Nets.
No Swish For Simmons
Simmons certainly missed the basket in a major, almost shocking way.
However, a couple of things need to be kept in mind: firstly, this was only a half-serious attempt at the basket and not an actual shot on an NBA court.
Secondly, Simmons is not going to be taking a whole lot of shots in the new year, at least according to inside reports.
Instead, he will be a facilitator for players such as Durant and Irving.
He will certainly need to perfect his shot more but he won’t be looked to sink make-or-break baskets for Brooklyn.
