Most of the headlines surrounding Ben Simmons of the Brooklyn Nets haven’t been good ones.
Since his downfall with the Philadelphia 76ers, Simmons has seen his name dragged around by fans of practically every team.
Things didn’t get a lot better after he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets.
He ended up not participating in a single game for Brooklyn due to injury, which means it’s been more than a year since Simmons played a professional NBA game.

He hasn’t just been absent, he’s been silent too.
Simmons was never one to speak much but you have to assume he wants to defend himself and tell his side of the story.
Now he will get that chance: the popular podcast “The Old Man And The Three”, hosted by J.J. Redick, said that Simmons will be a guest on the show this week.
This could be a major moment in Simmons’ career or it could be a bit of a letdown for fans hoping to hear straight from the superstar.
Simmons Speaks
Redick has grown into a great podcast host and asks some really hard-hitting questions.
He also knows basketball incredibly well, which leads to some deep and illuminating conversations with players.
Simmons will be able to talk about his time with the 76ers and Nets during the interview.
However, he could also remain silent and refuse to give up much information.
If he dodges going deep, it’ll be a huge disappointment because fans of Simmons deserve explanations about the last two seasons.
Additionally, if Simmons hopes to recover his image and be a well-respected player again, he will need to do some hard work and be honest and open.
This interview could be the start of that.
