The end of Ben Simmons‘ time with the Philadelphia 76ers wasn’t pleasant, to put it gently.
In fact, it was an absolute trainwreck.
It all started during the 2020-21 playoffs when Simmons fell apart during the postseason while still playing for the 76ers.
The Australian All-Star was obviously having a lot of issues and couldn’t connect with his other players or the basket.
Following that, the relationship between him and the team was very rocky and it was clear that he wanted to leave Philly.
It even got so bad that he sat out from games until he was traded away to the Brooklyn Nets in early 2022.

Now, Simmons is opening up about his final days with the 76ers.
Speaking on the Old Man & The Three podcast, Simmons didn’t hold back when speaking about the Philadelphia 76ers front office and the fans that support them.
He said it felt “like everyone’s just trying to f— with me.”
Sure enough, Simmons is now one of the most hated athletes in Philadelphia and he likely will be for some time.
Ben In Brooklyn
Simmons says that he’s happy being with the Nets but we have yet to see him actually play a game for the new team.
He was recovering from injury for the remainder of the 2021-22 season and never once suited up, even when Brooklyn was trying to make a place in the playoffs.
If he is able to come out strongly for the Nets then that will be the best revenge against Philly.
Despite all the drama surrounding him, he is still a supremely talented basketball player.
It’s just been some time since he really showed off all that skill.
