Matt Nagy and the Chicago Bears are in a real bad spot right now.
The team is 4-8, likely set to miss the postseason, and Nagy’s job is in jeopardy.
So he may as well put his best players on the field and hope for a miracle.
Andy Dalton got the start at quarterback last week as Justin Fields remained out with an injury.
But any chance of taking down the Arizona Cardinals was literally thrown away by Dalton as he tossed four interceptions in the loss.
Those made the difference in the 33-22 final.
Dalton is clearly not a long-term answer in Chicago, nor is he expected to be.
That is why Bears fans have to be thrilled about an update Nagy provided Wednesday.
Bears’ HC Matt Nagy told reporters that Justin Fields was medically cleared and will start Sunday night vs. the Packers.

Fields is set to return for a primetime showdown against the Packers on the road in Green Bay.
Unless he plays out of his mind, this could be the final straw for Nagy within the organization.
Fans Get To See Their QB
But all fans care about is seeing Fields back and healthy.
He is the future of the franchise, not Dalton, and will be around even if Nagy gets the boot.
That may be for the best as Fields has only had two games this season where he has eclipsed the 200-yard mark.
So either Nagy is holding him back, or the rookie is not ready.
Can’t believe they’d tell the Packers this early in the week, now they’ll have so much time to get ready for the Fields offense that differs so extensively from the Dalton offense! https://t.co/ytEKm1eACl

But the organization declared him to be ready by using a first-round pick on him so they may as well let him play free and hope for the best.
There is still a chance Fields returns and leads the Bears to a win Sunday night.
A loss is just the more likely scenario, but as long as Fields can show some progression, fans can take that away as a positive.
As for Nagy, it will take a miracle for him to keep his job.
