The Chicago Bears haven’t seen a field goal kicker like Robbie Gould since they let him go in 2015.
Since this time, the Bears have seen nightmare after nightmare with their kickers.
Everyone remembers the double-doink from the NFC Wild Card game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
It was the kick which changed the history of the team forever.
Instead of having a shot at the Super Bowl, which their defense could have won, they were sitting at home.
However, last night was another dagger in the heart of Bears fans, as Gould has been perfect in the NFL playoffs.
Can’t believe the Bears cut this guy so Ryan Pace and John Fox could bring in Connor Barth. Unbelievable. https://t.co/uij0Asylmw

While Connor Barth didn’t last long with the team, he led to Cairo Santos and Cody Parkey joining the team.
So it’s understandable why fans are so angry at their team releasing Gould.
They went from having a player who’s “good as gold,” to having a rotating door of failures.
However, it’s not like the Bears wanted to let their golden leg go back then, right?
While it seems crazy to think the Bears wanted to release Gould, it’s exactly the reason behind him not being in Chicago anymore.
Former general manager Ryan Pace felt Barth was better than Gould.
Boy, was he wrong on that move.
Barth was a disaster for the team and saw himself cut by the end of his second season.
Had the Bears kept Gould, maybe the 2018-19 season ends with a Super Bowl appearance for the Bears.
However, fans will never know what might have been and can only live out a Super Bowl dream through Gould’s current team.
