Baker Mayfield‘s career, both collegiate and NFL, has been marked with controversy.
Along with his collegiate antics on the sidelines, Baker hasn’t performed up to his career expectations.

In the past four seasons, Mayfield leads the league in total interceptions.
During this time, he has thrown just 98 touchdowns, which is only the 15th-best mark in the league.
What’s Happened To Mayfield?
Mayfield was the recipient of the 2017 Heisman Trophy.
In the 13 games that he started that season for the University of Oklahoma, he threw for an impressive 4,627 yards, 43 touchdowns, and only six interceptions.
He also boasted a 70.5% completion rate in that season.
For whatever reason, he hasn’t been able to attain the level of dominance in the NFL he once had in the NCAA.
It’s certainly not for a lack of offensive weapons either.
While playing in Cleveland, Mayfield had been on a roster with players such as Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Jarvis Landry, and Odell Beckham Jr, just to name a few.
In Carolina, although he only played in seven games for them, he still had access to weapons such as Christian McCaffrey, DJ Moore, and Terrace Marshall Jr.
It appears that Mayfield is the common factor within these losing rosters.
Since entering the league, Mayfield’s record has been 31-35.
While he hasn’t been the reason that teams have won many games, he is still floating around the .500 mark for this career.
Will he find a new home, now that he’s been released by the Panthers?
Or, will this former number-one overall pick become a career backup, and likely, an NFL journeyman?
