The Houston Astros have seemingly found their replacement for Yuli Gurriel at first base.
Today, the defending World Series champions agreed to terms with longtime Chicago White Sox slugger Jose Abreu on a three-year contract.
Abreu spent nine seasons with the White Sox, making his debut in 2014.
The 35-year-old was a Rookie of the Year, MVP, a three-time All-Star, and a three-time Silver Slugger.
This past season, he hit .304 with 15 home runs and posted a 4.2 WAR.
On Twitter, Astros insider Chandler Rome revealed the financial terms of Abreu’s new deal with the Astros, stating that it is expected to be worth around $60 million.

Astros Land Abreu
The veteran slugger is a big addition for the defending World Series champions as they look to pull off yet another title run.
Abreu gives them the impact bat they need and an everyday first baseman to replace Gurriel.
Along with Kyle Tucker, Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, and Jeremy Pena, Abreu adds a little extra power to an already prolific lineup.
Houston won 106 games during the regular season and eliminated the Seattle Mariners in the ALDS and did the same to the New York Yankees in the ALCS.
It took six games to take down the Philadelphia Phillies, but the Astros managed to get it done and capture their second title in franchise history.
With Abreu now in the fold, the Astros have become serious threats to win yet another World Series title.
Now, the team will turn its focus to trying to retain AL Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander.
