The Buffalo Bills haven’t seen a Super Bowl since the days of Jim Kelly.
With the Hall of Fame quarterback, the team made it to four Super Bowls in a row.
However, the team would fall short in every appearance.
It’s been 28 years since the Bills were in Super Bowl 28 against the Dallas Cowboys.
With the 2022 NFL season coming closer, the Bills are going all out to make it to Super Bowl 57.
So with the moves the Bills are making, are they Super Bowl or bust in 2022?
Bills Sign Receiver Stefon Diggs To Four-Year Deal
Stefon Diggs gets $70 million in guaranteed money in this four-year deal with the Bills.
Another mega deal: Bills reached agreement with WR Stefon Diggs on a 4-year, $104 million extension that includes $70 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN. Deal ties Diggs to Buffalo for six more years, at $124.1M, with the intent from both sides to have him retire in Buffalo. pic.twitter.com/ptSQ3eE54D

That’s a nice chunk of money for the Bills to hand out to their star receiver from 2021.
It also keeps him in Buffalo for the foreseeable future with intentions of having him retire with the team.
However, he isn’t the only big name that the Bills handed out money to this offseason.
Bills Sign Linebacker Von Miller To Six-Year Deal
Re-signing Diggs helps the offense but free agent acquisition Von Miller upgrades the team’s defense.
His deal with the Bills was for $120 million over the next six years.

The elite linebacker comes off a season that saw him help the Los Angeles Rams win Super Bowl 56.
Miller is no stranger to winning a Super Bowl title, as he has two championship rings in his career.
That experience, along with his play on defense, is why the Bills signed him to a long-term deal.
The deal would have Miller retire with the Bills.
Don’t Long-Term Deals Mean The Bills Are Building For The Future?
Most people equate long-term deals with building a team for the future.
However, that isn’t the case in Buffalo.
These players that are getting long-term deals are older players.
That means they are nearing the end of their NFL career.
There isn’t much of a future for older NFL players.
If they were signing younger players to deal like this, it would mean something for the future.
However, that’s not the case with Miller and Diggs.
While they are talented players and help the Bills, they have little time left in the NFL.
Those players playing beyond the end of their contracts would be surprising.
Miller will be 39 in six years and Diggs will be 34 when his contract is up.
It’s Now Or Never
The team the Bills put together won’t last very long.
Some players will regress as time goes on while the team won’t be able to keep other players.
With the contracts some players have, the cap will become an issue going into 2023 and beyond.
A future cap issue will force the team to release players or restructure contracts.
Sometimes those things don’t go well for teams, just look at the Green Bay Packers.
That is why this year is a Super Bowl or bust season for the Bills.
It’s because this will be the best chance the team has to have all these players together at one time.
