With modern technology, you can have all of your favorite songs with you at all times.
The only problem with some of the online music players is that you have to have a Wi-Fi connection for them to work.
Luckily, there are many apps out there that will allow you to listen to music even without that Wi-Fi connection.
Here are some of our favorite choices, and many of them offer free versions to make sure you always have access to music.
Apps You Can Use to Listen to Music Without Wi-Fi
1. Spotify
Spotify has become one of the most popular music streaming services.
With Spotify, you can listen to ad-free music, and you don’t need to be online to do so.
You can download songs directly to your phone and save them in playlists, so you are set up to listen to your favorites at any given time.
With Spotify, you have a monthly fee, but if you are a true music fan, you will quickly download and listen to enough music to make this monthly fee more than worth it.
Spotify has different membership plans that will offer you various capabilities and features, but they all will allow you to listen when you are not online.
Spotify will give you a free month to try out their service and see if it is for you.
2. Groove

Groove is an app put out by Microsoft to allow you to listen to and organize all of your favorite songs.
Groove Music has different types of subscriptions, and one of those is one which allows you to purchase and download any songs you want.
Once you purchase a song and download it to your phone, it is yours to keep and listen to even when you are not connected to Wi-Fi.
One of the things we love most about Groove is the ability to make playlists quite easily.
3. Google Play Music
https://play.google.com/music/
Google likes to make life easier, and if you are a Google fan, you probably already have many of their applications installed and in use on your devices.
If that is the case, it certainly makes sense to add Google Play Music as well.
With Google Play Music, you can stream music when you have access to Wi-Fi, and you can also purchase this music.
If you purchase a song, it will download to your device, and then you can play it whenever you want, regardless of the internet connection.
With Google Play Music, there are several subscription choices, and one of them is for an unlimited type of membership where you can download anything you may want.
4. Apple Music
https://www.apple.com/apple-music/
Apple Music has been around for a very long time.
With Apple Music, you can listen to music, download songs, and create all kinds of different playlists.
Apple Music is quite smart as well, and it will help you find songs that are good fits for your music style and preferences.
When you are listening to a song on Apple Music, there is a button you can press to see the price of a song you may want to download.
Once you download that song, it is yours to listen to whenever you want, regardless of your internet connection.
Apple Music is a very straightforward music streaming solution, and it has been this way for quite some time.
If you want something trusted where downloads will be clean and error-free, the Apple Music app is a great choice.
5. Gaana
Gaana is a unique app that is going to provide mostly Indian music.
The Gaana app is very easy to use, and when you first download, it will initially be free.
The Gaana app is mostly used online, but it does allow you to download music and use it as well.
With Gaana, the downloads can be a little slow, and there may be some extra charges that would apply, but overall, if you like Indian music, this is a great choice to consider listening to.
6. Pandora
Pandora is one of the best internet radios out there, and it has been for a very long time.
Pandora’s best thing is that it can introduce you to types of music you may not have otherwise known about.
Pandora gives you access to so many different radio stations and channels and allows you to customize them to your needs.
What many people don’t know is that, with Pandora, you can listen to music offline as well.
The only thing you can’t do without your internet connection is to create channels.
You must make sure your channels are set up and created while you are on Wi-Fi, and then you can switch to the offline mode.
When you are offline, you will have access to your top four channels and the ability to keep the music playing.
This is a great feature, but the one thing some people don’t enjoy about Pandora is that you can’t choose your exact song.
It is more of a radio station that will play several similar songs.
7. Deezer
If you like ad-free music, then Deezer is an option you should seriously consider.
With Deezer Premium, you do not need a Wi-Fi connection to listen to your favorite songs.
Another great feature of the Deezer app is that you can get lyrics for most of the 53 million songs they have available.
If you are one of those people who wants to know exactly what the artist is saying, the Deezer app can help you do that.
We also like how open they are about not needing your Wi-Fi connection.
Some of these apps will make it seem like you don’t need Wi-Fi, but then you will have very little available to you without your internet connection.
WIth Deezer, you get plenty of functionality even when you have no Wi-Fi.
Deezer does have a free plan, but you won’t find it to be as convenient and high quality as the premium.
8. SoundCloud
SoundCloud is one of the best solutions for listening to music without Wi-Fi.
We love their process and how easy they make it to get the songs you want, even without using your Wi-Fi.
While listening to music on SoundCloud, pay attention to your favorite songs.
When you hear one you like, you can click the heart button.
The heart button is going to save this as one of your favorite tracks.
Once this is saved as a favorite, you can now listen to it even when you are offline.
What’s even better about SoundCloud is that it is free.
This is certainly not something you see with other music apps which require you to pay for each song you download.
With SoundCloud, you won’t be downloading, just simply saving the songs.
9. Napster
Napster was formally known as Rhapsody but now they have combined, and they offer some great options for offline music.
The best thing about Napster is that, even if you want to listen on your desktop, you will have the ability to do so.
Most of these apps only allow you access on your phone or iPad, but with Napster, you get some extra functionality.
The downside of Napster is that the quality of the music is not quite as high.
If you want something with high-quality sound, then you should look at the Tidal app.
It will be more expensive, but you will be impressed with the quality of sound.
10. Amazon Music Unlimited
Amazon Music Unlimted is a premium music service you will have to subscribe to.
If you are an Amazon Prime member and enjoy the Amazon services, this is a great music choice for you.
Once you are a member and have access to all of the music, you can start downloading the songs you want.
Once your songs are downloaded, you can listen to them at any time.
The great thing about this is that, if you have any of the Amazon devices like Alexa, your music will also be there for you to listen to.
11. LiveXLive
This is also known as Slacker Radio.
This service will be very similar to Pandora in that it is a radio station instead of just a way to download music.
With LiveXLive, you will have to download the Slacker Radio app and choose the premium plan.
There won’t be a way to listen to music without Wi-Fi unless you are a premium member.
With the premium plan, all you need to do is search for the music you love and then download the songs you want.
After you hit download, you will have access to these songs at any time.
The combination of the Slacker Radio with the ability to download music that appeals to you is a very nice feature and one that should be considered when looking for an offline music service.
12. Shazam
Have you ever heard a song and said, “I wonder who sings this?”
With Shazam, you won’t have to wonder.
Shazam is equipped to determine which songs are playing around you and then lead you to some more information about this song and others just like it.
For a while, Shazam could only be used if you have Wi-Fi, but now they allow you to use it when you are offline as well.
Shazam works best for finding a song and is not going to be as easy to use, from a music download/management perspective, as something like Spotify or Amazon Music.
For the low price, it is an app worth considering.
13. Evermusic
Evermusic is an offline music playing app for iPhones.
With Evermusic, you can download lots of songs, make sure they are configured properly, and then save them in playlists.
The Evermusic app is nice because you don’t even have to think about whether you have Wi-Fi to keep your playlists going.
The Evermusic app is easy to use, and we like the organization features when it comes to setting up your playlists and enjoying your favorite music.
14. Tidal
If you have a highly trained ear and you appreciate listening to higher quality music, then Tidal is a great choice.
You can stream and download music tracks that are of a higher quality than other music apps.
This is important for musicians and people who care about the sound and how the music plays.
Of course, you should also make sure you have a way to play the music on a good speaker or device.
The Tidal app is not free, but it does have ways for you to download and listen to music offline.
The only real downside of Tidal is that you don’t get a free trial before you start the paid version.
We can tell you that the paid version is impressive, and it works quite well, but it’s tough without seeing it for yourself before you start.
15. Musify
If you are a true music fan, the Musify App will stand out as one of the best.
With Musify, you will have a large community of listeners to help you learn about music and turn you on to other artists you may enjoy.
The Musify App is initially free, and you won’t have any trouble signing up and getting started.
You can listen to music online, download songs, and listen to music when you are offline as well.
We love that you can listen to a song before downloading it.
Sometimes with a paid download, you only get to hear the first part of the song, and you may end up not enjoying the entire song.
Musify is a great solution for offline music, listening, and organizing your favorite music.
16. JioSaavn
JioSaavn is the last app on our list, but it still offers some great features to listeners.
With the JioSaavn app, you will have lots of access to all of the latest and greatest Bollywood music.
You will need a subscription to get the JioSaavn app to allow you to download songs.
Once you have the subscription in place, you can download whatever you would like and listen to the music both online and offline.
This is an easy app to use, but of course, your music selections are going to be a bit limited.
Sometimes to get the best access to offline music, it pays to have several different apps.
Although this can take a bit of time to manage, you will end up saving some money in the long run.
