By nearly every conceivable measure, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves is having the best season of his NBA career.
Now in his third year in the league, Edwards is averaging 24.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.5 assists on 45.8% from the field.
He is also averaging 1.7 steals per game, which is a career-high total for the former number one overall draft pick.
One of Edwards’ biggest strengths has long been his confidence and that hasn’t waned at all.
Recently, Edwards spoke with the media and talked about his desire to take on and guard the best players in the league.

“If the other team has a premier guard, I want that matchup,” Edwards said.
“We need more of the best players guarding the best players. I think that’s what people come to see,” he added.
Edwards has become a very important part of his team’s offense and defense, proving that he is an impressive two-way player.
You can see his dogged determination in just about every possession and each time he steps up to defend opponents.
Edwards has looked more fired up this season, even as his team has delivered mixed results.
The team, who added Rudy Gobert to the lineup in the summer, is eighth in the West with a perfectly even .500 record of 32-32.
That’s not quite what fans were expecting when the season began.
The disappointment of the season hasn’t slowed Edwards down, who has seemed more engaged with the frequent absences of Karl-Anthony Towns.
He obviously believes in himself and his abilities and shows no signs of slowing down.
