It was touch and go for a moment but the Los Angeles Lakers beat the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.
The game was a big one for multiple reasons.
It was the first match featuring new recruit Rui Hachimura, for example.
But it was also the much-heralded return of Anthony Davis, who has been out of the game since the end of December because of a leg injury.

Everyone was wondering how Davis would do: would he be playing like an MVP again or would he still be shaking off the rust?
He didn’t play for the entire game but he certainly made an impact during his 25 minutes.
Davis was good for 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks, while shooting 6-of-7 from the field.
Even though he only played for 25 minutes, Davis still led his team in points, rebounds, and blocks.
Those who were worried about Davis not looking like his former self can breathe a sigh of relief.
Within the next few days, people can expect to see Davis play a lot more – and probably produce a lot more too.
You can note how much Davis’ presence helped the Lakers.
LeBron James, who was coming off of a historic effort just a couple of nights before, was able to rest a bit more and only scored 20 points.
Davis was a focal point of the team’s offense and defense right away, proving just how crucial he is for the team’s success.
Following the game, Davis said that he felt totally fine and that his body wasn’t bothering him.
That means that he will only ramp up his activity during the upcoming games.
Therefore, his 21 points and 12 rebounds may just be the tip of the iceberg.
