Anthony Davis’ tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers has been an emotional rollercoaster.
He became the most hated man in New Orleans when he forced his way out of the team, but it paid off right away.
The Lakers won the NBA championship in the Orlando bubble, and they seemed poised to become a dynasty once again.
Then, Davis’ injury woes resurfaced, and he drew unlimited criticism for not being able to stay on the court.
Apparently, that has taken a big toll on him this season.
He’s been playing with a chip on his shoulder every time he’s been available, and it’s evident that he’s desperate to win.
That’s why he didn’t seem happy or excited when LeBron James — his close friend, teammate, and co-star — became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
Instead, all he was thinking of was the fact that they were still losing the game, and it was nothing personal:
For all the internet sleuths out there who were trying to dissect AD’s body language Tuesday as LeBron broke the record, Davis said he was consumed with losing the game and wasn’t aware that LeBron was about to pass Kareem: pic.twitter.com/mkXhPPi8XP

Davis drew plenty of scrutiny and criticism for his body language during James’ incredible milestone, with some even speculating that he didn’t want to be there anymore and would demand to be traded before the deadline.
That wouldn’t make all that much sense, and he would’ve forced his way out of the team way sooner if that was the case.
The Lakers went through a major roster overhaul in an attempt to salvage their season, and that’s the kind of competitive spirit they’ll need from the newcomers as well, so props to Davis for keeping it 100% about winning.
