Documentaries about NBA superstars have become more and more popular over the last few years.
The Michael Jordan series The Last Dance was a monster success, and the current series about the Los Angeles Lakers on Hulu is a hit, as is the Netflix show about the Redeem Team.
Yes, NBA docs are all the rage right now.
And now another one is being added to the list.

HBO announced a plan for Shaq, a docuseries about – you guessed it – the career and life of Shaquille O’Neal.
O’Neal is still a major part of the NBA even years after his retirement and his story is one worth telling.
It is sure to have plenty of great interviews, including some from the Hall of Famer himself.
This will be some excellent television.
Shaq On The Screen
O’Neal played for a few teams during his time in the league but is best known for his period with the Los Angeles Lakers and his victories with Kobe Bryant.
That relationship will surely be spoken of in the documentary, as will his success with the Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, and beyond.
The documentary will also touch upon his life after the league, as he transitioned to a television personality and one of the most respected and beloved NBA analysts on air.
O’Neal is the latest to get a documentary but he won’t be the last.
There is a Bryant documentary in the works currently and there will be others about various NBA legends throughout history.
These shows and moves have proven to be very successful, confirming that NBA fans love to learn more about the people they have been rooting for for years.
