When it rains, it pours for the Memphis Grizzlies.
Steven Adams’ injury was a deathly blow to their otherwise flawless defense and rebounding, and it took a toll on the standings as well.
Then, losing Ja Morant over his gun-related incident has only put them in an even tougher spot, as there’s reportedly no timetable for his return to the team.
Notably, Adams will also stay on the shelf through this key stretch of the season.
The team recently announced that he’s going to be re-evaluated in four weeks as he continues to work his way back from a PCL sprain, so it seems like there is no good news in Tennesee as of late.

Adams had already made the news lately because of his reported frustration with the team’s behavior.
He held a player’s only meeting to call Ja Morant out and urge his teammates to stop going out and partying when they were on the road.
The Grizzlies were once considered a big dark horse to come out of the Western Conference and upset the most prominent teams in the league.
Now, some wonder whether they’ll even make it past the first round, even if Morant is able to return to the team in time for the start of the playoffs.
This team could have a bright future ahead of them, but they have some soul-searching to do.
