The Los Angeles Angels are a team that has risen from complete and utter obscurity to become a clear postseason contender.
Led by Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, Anthony Rendon, and Taylor Ward, this is looking like a team that can compete for its first World Series title since 2002.
They own a 26-17 record and sit just a game-and-a-half behind the first-place Houston Astros in the American League West.
They’ve even flipped the script on a team that they struggled to beat in 2021.
Sam Blum of The Athletic points out on Twitter that the Angels had 4-15 record against the Oakland A’s last season, and that this year, even though we aren’t even in June yet, they’ve already improved upon that mark.
Record for Angels vs. A's in 2021: 4-15
Record for Angels vs. A's so far in 2022: 5-2.

Angels Flip The Script
Not that beating this current edition of the A’s is going to be that tough given the fire sale the team went through during the offseason.
But the Angels have already improved on their record against them from last season.
There’s still time for the A’s to turn that around, but five wins is better than four wins for sure.
And there’s really not much hope for the A’s to actually start winning that many games, especially against this powerful Angels team.
Stranger things have happened, but it’s highly unlikely, especially when the Angels have gotten contributions from nearly everybody on their roster.
The script has been completely flipped from a year ago, or so it seems.
These are two teams that are headed in opposite directions.
The Angels are trending upwards while the A’s are trending down.
We’ll see if the Angels can keep this trend going and continue to dominate Oakland.
