The losses are piling up in Anaheim as the Los Angeles Angels‘ current losing skid reached 12 games last night, which ties a franchise record.
After being passed in the Wild Card standings by the Boston Red Sox, they opened up a crucial four-game set with the Sox on Monday night.
A win would have put them back in front of Boston, but Michael Wacha threw a complete game shutout as the Sox won, 1-0.
Needless to say, it’s been a rough go of things in Anaheim.
After the game, the Angels had a funny, yet accurate tweet regarding their current situation.

Only Pain
What else can you say?
The Angels are really scuffling and are not finding the key to success after leading the American League West division roughly a month ago.
Now, that all seems like a distant memory.
They’ve dug themselves a huge hole in the division and now have two teams standing in the way as they try and fight to get back into that third Wild Card spot.
The Cleveland Guardians are now an obstacle.
But this tweet perfectly captures how the Angels and their fans are feeling right now.
This skid has been nothing short of painful and there really are no positives that they can take out of it.
Last night’s game was a 1-0 loss.
Losses like that are excruciating and deflating, and they can suck the wind out of a team.
The Angels’ social media team said exactly the right thing in that tweet after last night’s game.
Pain is exactly how the Angels and their fanbase would describe this skid.
We’ll see if they can finally right the ship and get going again.
At least they have some cool City Connect uniforms.
