The Los Angeles Angels have had a busy offseason, one that began with the team addressing their biggest weakness by signing left-hander Tyler Anderson to a three-year deal.
But with the big-name starters off the board, starting pitching is still at a premium.
The best option out on the free agent market is veteran right-hander Michael Wacha, who enjoyed a solid season with the Boston Red Sox as he returned to his old form, posting a 3.32 ERA in 23 starts.
On Twitter, an Angels fan suggested that the team should try and make a play for Wacha in order to bolster their rotation.
Michael Wacha the Angels would be the perfect landing spot for you. #ShoheiOhtani and @MichaelWacha on the same team would be Awesome. @Angels #MichaelWacha pic.twitter.com/KM6HwJe8sr

Wacha would be a good addition to the Angels rotation.
They already have Shohei Ohtani at the top.
Anderson was an All-Star last season with the Los Angeles Dodgers and had a 2.57 ERA.
Wacha would give them a solid top three and a chance to compete for a spot in the postseason, or potentially even challenge the Houston Astros in the American League West.
The 31-year-old does share an interesting connection with the Angels.
When the Halos signed Albert Pujols to a 10-year deal back in 2011, Wacha was the compensation draft pick awarded to the St. Louis Cardinals.
So if he were to sign with the Angels, it would be a full-circle moment for the right-hander.
Wacha pitched seven seasons in St. Louis before brief stops with the New York Mets, Tampa Bay Rays, and Red Sox.
The Angels have lacked starting pitching depth in recent years, and a signing such as this could give them the depth they need to contend.
