Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors is not only one of the NBA’s best players and one of its greatest of all time, but he also has a reputation as perhaps one of the league’s more unselfish superstars.
Unlike some others, he doesn’t promote himself heavily or draw attention to himself, and he hasn’t had trouble getting along with his fellow stars on the Warriors.
When Kevin Durant arrived in 2016, the adjustment was relatively seamless, as Curry didn’t seem to mind that Durant would now be the team’s No. 1 option on offense.
Andre Iguodala, who was a teammate of both Curry and Durant, said the former sacrificed more than anyone else in order to accommodate the latter.

Curry’s stats took a bit of a hit, as he went from an NBA-high 30.1 points a game in the 2015-16 campaign to 25.3 points a game the next year with Durant on board.
The Warriors instantly won back-to-back championships once Durant arrived, and he won the NBA Finals MVP both times, which deprived Curry of an important individual honor.
Once Durant left in 2019, Curry went through some tough times, as he missed most of the 2019-20 season with a hand injury while Golden State missed the playoffs for two consecutive seasons.
But he stayed on course, and the team won its fourth world title in eight years last season.
After putting up impressive numbers during the NBA Finals, which included a 43-point explosion in Game 4, Curry finally earned his first championship series MVP, and pundits started to mention him as arguably one of the 10 greatest basketball players ever.
At age 34, he is still in his prime, and if the Warriors manage to get healthy and hot the rest of the way (Curry is nearing a return from a lower leg injury), perhaps he will add to his hardware collection this summer.
