The New England Patriots showed up ready to play.
It didn’t seem so at first, as they fell to a 16-0 deficit right away, but they were resilient and almost pulled off a comeback.
That’s why former NFL player Willie Colon believes it would be a mistake to overlook this team going forward.
He says they’re going to be much better than most people expected, stating that Bill Belichick will always be the biggest brain in the building and praising their defense.
“They will be better, believe in the Patriots.”

He also claimed that Mac Jones would do a lot better within this offense, and it sure looked like that.
Truth be told, Jones looked much better than he did last season, even after the pick-six.
It’s still hard to put the Patriots ahead of any other team in their division, even if we haven’t seen the Aaron Rodgers-led New York Jets yet.
However, it seems like the race for the AFC East Division won’t be between just three teams as originally predicted, as this Patriots defense is going to be a tough unit to get past week in and week out.
There will always be some questions about Jones and the offense, but Bill O’Brien knows him well and knows how to put him in a position to succeed, and it showed yesterday.
Granted that the Philadelphia Eagles overlooked them and seemingly took their foot off the gas sooner than they should’ve.
But Bill Belichick is too good of a coach to just count them out.
