The New York Knicks had a good season last year, finishing with the fifth-best record in the Eastern Conference and getting to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in 10 years.
It was a step forward, but it wasn’t enough to satisfy long-suffering Knicks fans, who have been starving for a winner.
Those fans have also been waiting for a true superstar, and one can argue the team hasn’t had one since Patrick Ewing was in his prime in the mid-1990s.
There could be two superstars available on the market pretty soon, and Bryan Fonseca outlined how New York could possibly land either Giannis Antetokounmpo or Joel Embiid.
As Damian Lillard resolves, NBA talk will pivot to the next star available.@DHenryTV & I ponder the Knicks positioning to make the next splash as we turn to names like Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokoumnpo in the near future.

He said the team could use forward Julius Randle as salary ballast and the center of a package that could include draft capital should either superstar become available via trade, perhaps next summer.
Antetokounmpo could opt out of his contract in 2025 and has said he will not sign an extension with the Milwaukee Bucks unless he’s confident they will contend for championships moving forward.
Some feel the Bucks may end up having to trade him next summer if they don’t go deep in the playoffs this season and if they receive enough distress signals from the Greek Freak.
Embiid cannot be happy with the situation on the Philadelphia 76ers, as “The Process” has stalled short of the Eastern Conference Finals and co-star James Harden is at odds with management after it failed to trade him this summer.
It’s about time the Knicks landed an elite player and rejoined the ranks of elite teams in the NBA.
