After three straight losses, the San Francisco 49ers desperately needed a break to take a breath and to get some of the best players healthy enough to return to the field.
Fortunately, the 49ers were able to get a breather with their bye week and now will head into their matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend refreshed, with offensive stars Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams likely to make their return to the gridiron.
With the 49ers racking up losses before the bye week, star quarterback Brock Purdy has come under fire as he finally gave his critics the ammunition they needed to claim that he’s not as good as his overall record with San Francisco shows.
However, Purdy has a chance to bounce back with a vengeance this week with the potential to have his best offensive lineman back in the fold and arguably his best playmaker outside of Christian McCaffrey.
If Purdy can’t lead the 49ers to a win over the Jaguars on Sunday, Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports believes the team may look to another option at quarterback during the NFL offseason, via The Herd with Colin Cowherd.

As of right now, the odds are in Purdy’s favor to get the win over the Jaguars on the road in Jacksonville at EverBank Stadium, as they are, without a doubt, the more talented football team on both sides of the ball.
This game will be arguably the game of the week in the NFL, with two teams that could potentially meet in the Super Bowl and a lot of pressure on San Francisco to come out on top.
