The Portland Trail Blazers and Miami Heat might be on the phone right now working out a deal for Damian Lillard.
The latest reporting says that the two sides are actually negotiating.
Big developments could be right around the corner.
Who will get the better side of the trade, if it ends up happening?
According to David Aldridge, via Dru on Twitter, the Heat are offering a package that simply isn’t worth Lillard’s skill set.
“No, Tyler Herro and three first-round picks is not a good deal for Portland, for, arguably, the best player in that franchise’s history,” Aldridge said to The Athletic.
He added: “I love how fans – and, not a few general managers – argue with a straight face that my team’s third- or fourth-best player with some filler should, somehow, be enough for you to give up your team’s best player.”

This is basically what the Blazers have been thinking since Lillard made his intentions clear a few months ago.
They want a trade haul that is equal to the power of Lillard.
As great as Herro has been in the past, his contract and three first-round picks simply don’t add up to Lillard.
The Blazers know that Lillard is an A-lister, an All-Star.
They want another in return for him.
But will they get it?
Lillard has put the team in a bind by demanding a trade to one team.
Because of that, there aren’t any other suitors lining up to woo Portland.
They are basically stuck negotiating with the Heat.
And the Heat aren’t willing to pony up anything other than this deal.
We have been wondering if the Blazers will settle and just accept a deal they aren’t truly happy with.
Now that talks are warming up, we will see what the final offer looks like.
If the Blazers really desire more than just Herro and draft picks, they will have to get a third team involved.
Otherwise, they will be stuck with what the Heat offer.
