The Philadelphia Eagles have done an outstanding job of gathering young talent alongside their proven veterans over the past couple of years.
That’s why they were comfortable letting some players go this offseason, knowing that they had more than enough young guys that could step up and lead the way going forward.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Mike Garafolo predicted that Nakobe Dean would have a breakout year next season, pretty much because he has no other choice.

Garafolo explained that the Eagles organization doesn’t usually spend a lot of money on linebackers, which is why they let some of them go.
He added that Dean would now have to play a lot more after spending most of his rookie season playing on special teams, adding that he’s also going to be the defense’s captain and be in charge of calling plays.
Garafolo said that the reports of Dean’s offseason have been quite positive, adding that there’s no sign of those health concerns that some had about him when he first entered the league.
Moreover, Garafolo says that Dean will have to be quite more vocal and aggressive in his second season as one of the leaders of the defense, but that’s a role that should come naturally to him after his days in college with the Georgia Bulldogs.
GM Howie Roseman has put together an elite team, and you can tell that when you have the luxury of filling in some gaps with an elite prospect like Dean.
