It is undeniable that the NBA currently has some of the best and strongest talent it’s ever had.
Yet, there are still countless debates and arguments about how good the stars are, especially compared to those who have played before.
Some people have had enough.
Analyst Amin Elhassan spoke out against the current NBA coverage we have all grown used to.
Speaking on the Dan Le Batard Show, via NBACentral, Elhassan said he’s tired of modern stars repeatedly battling against icons of the past.
“We’re the only sport that continuously s–ts on the current product and says everything was better 20 years ago,” Elhassan said.
He added: “LeBron’s not playing Steph Curry, he’s playing Michael Jordan.”

Elhassan is referencing age-old debates that all basketball fans have heard again and again.
LeBron James is often compared to players who have come before him, such as Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and others.
And he’s not the only one: Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Nikola Jokic are just some of the many NBA superstars who have to not only play better than their current opponents but the stars from yesteryear.
According to Elhassan and others, this isn’t respectful or fair.
It also overshadows the fact that the current NBA has some remarkable and legendary talent.
There are current players who will easily sail into the Hall of Fame and have quite literally changed the game.
Yet, debates like this will continue to pop up since fans love to ask hypothetical questions that have no definitive answers.
Elhassan thinks it is time that everyone stop paying so much attention to these matchups and instead focus on the amazing basketball we are all witnessing right now.
