NFL fans didn’t get the game they bargained for during the NFC Championship.
While fans were expecting a close game, the Philadelphia Eagles turned the game into a blowout.
However, this blowout was because of an injury Brock Purdy suffered early in the matchup.
While the game wasn’t close, fans still kept watching.
According to ratings, the NFC Championship Game had 47.5 million viewers.

These fans stuck around to see the defense of the Eagles dominate the San Francisco 49ers.
While fans were expecting Jalen Hurts to highlight the offense, he did very little in the passing game.
However, he had himself a rushing touchdown, the only touchdown he scored.
What fans got was a low-yardage affair by the Eagles, as they only had 269 total yards on offense.
However, the low-yardage game came from the 49ers’ defense fighting during each drive.
Fans stuck around to see if the 49ers could come back from their 21-7 halftime deficit on the back of Christian McCaffrey.
While the 49ers couldn’t overcome their costly second quarter fumble, fans still had hope their defense could make the game interesting.
But fans were instead treated to a game where 15 total penalties were committed by both teams.
However, the biggest moment with penalties came during a fight that broke out between the two teams.

While the fight didn’t change the outcome of the game, it gave fans something to watch outside of the blowout of the 49ers.
In the end, this NFC Championship Game became the highest ratings pull for FOX since the last NFC Championship Game the broadcast hosted in 2022.
