All eyes will be on Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night as the Denver Nuggets face off against the Miami Heat in a much-anticipated series.
Some of the biggest stars of the league will be in the game, including Nikola Jokic of the Nuggets and Jimmy Butler of the Heat.
But one of the largest names in the game won’t be on the court.
He will be on the sidelines.
As reported by Front Office Sports, announcer Mike Breen will call his 18th NBA Finals starting on Thursday.
That is the most by any play-by-play commentator in league history.

Breen has made a name for himself as one of the most knowledgeable, entertaining, and memorable commentators in professional sports.
His common catchphrases – such as “Bang!”, “Puts it in!”, and “It’s good!” – have become hallmarks of heated NBA games.
Breen has been a part of some of the biggest matchups in league history.
This year’s Finals might end up being one of the largest yet.
The ratings for the playoffs so far have been some of the best in years and ABC is ready to rake in millions of viewers for the Finals.
Although the two teams involved might not be as well-known or accomplished as some of the ones who have fallen along the way, there is still going to be tons of attention on the Finals.
This is both good news for Breen, of course, but also great news for the NBA.
They are in the midst of trying to plot their future and figure out the deals they want to make for their national television contracts.
No matter what the future brings for NBA and ABC, Breen stands a chance to be a part of it.
