The New York Jets have added another playmaker to their offense.
The Jets have been in the news of late about the potential addition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
So Jets fans should be happy to hear that they added a former Packer.
New York agreed to a contract with wide receiver Allen Lazard.
He signed a four-year contract, that will pay him $44 million.
Lazard now joins a receiving corps of Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore.
It is hard not to assume that this deal was something Rodgers wanted.
If the four-time MVP does come to New York, he is going to want to be familiar with someone.
Lazard was even on the alleged list of demands that Rodgers presented to the Jets.
But, Lazard was asked what attracted him to come play in New York.
According to Rich Cimini, Lazard said he wants to play under the “bright lights”.
Allen Lazard, on zoom call, says he was attracted to #Jets because he wanted "bright lights" of a big city after spending so much time in the midwest. Also mentions Nathaniel Hackett.

Also, former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett is now the OC with the Jets.
Lazard has familiarity playing in his offense, and that was another clear reason for signing in New York.
It was also made clear by Lazard that he came to New York to play with Rodgers.
Even though nothing is official yet, Lazard expects Rodgers to be traded to the Jets.

Now that Rodgers has made his intentions clear, we should see a deal come together soon.
The Jets will finally get a star quarterback, and this team will become one of the most interesting in the NFL.
