Allen Iverson Shouts Out An Exciting Young NBA Team

The New Orleans Pelicans have made a lot of fans over the last year – and especially over the last few weeks.

Most people had written them off at the start of the season, expecting them to achieve next to nothing without their star player Zion Williamson.

But the Pelicans had the last laugh.

In the end, they made the playoffs and put some serious pressure on the number-one seed Phoenix Suns before eventually being defeated in a wild first-round series.

One of the people to notice the team and root them on is none other than NBA legend Allen Iverson.

Iverson recently posted a message to head coach and old friend Willie Green and his young squad.

“So proud of my brother Willie G & his Mob,” Iverson said.

“Great fight young Kings!!!” Iverson added.

New Orleans’ Twitter account sent the love back to Iverson, posting a picture of AI playing with Green with a simple message: “Respect @AllenIverson.”

Up And Coming

What’s next for the Pelicans?

Quite frankly, a lot.

Iverson has many reasons to be excited about the Pelicans – as do the team’s fans.

The team was incredible this year despite some really bad odds – they have created a great roster of capable, versatile players.

And the best news is that Williamson’s return might be right around the corner.

The big man is rehabbing from a foot injury and surgery and hasn’t played a single game this year.

But the rumors are that he’ll be back when the next season starts.

Williamson has never been part of such a talented lineup before – he will only add to an already-powerful group of young guys.

If that happens, the rest of the league better watch out for the Pelicans.
