Alex Bregman has been on a roll lately, as have the Houston Astros.
He led the way for the Astros in yesterday’s 21-5 blowout victory over the Chicago White Sox, as he had a four-hit, six-RBI game.
But since a major moment in his life took place, he’s been on an absolute tear.
Not too long ago, Bregman and his wife had their first child.
In the 16 games he’s played since becoming a dad, Bregman is slashing .397/.471/.776 with five home runs and 17 RBI and has been a major key to the Astros’ recent run of success.
Astros beat writer Brian McTaggart provided the stats via Twitter.
Alex Bregman since becoming a dad: .397/.471/.776, 5 homers 17 RBIs in 16 games.

Dad Magic
Maybe there’s something extra that came with becoming a dad, because since then, Bregman has been on a roll.
Becoming a parent is obviously a magical moment for any person, so it makes sense that maybe this rejuvenated him a little bit.
For the season, Bregman is hitting .264 with 18 home runs and 72 RBI.
He’s also posted an .839 OPS.
It seems that becoming a dad helped him go on a tear.
He certainly was on a tear yesterday against the White Sox.
But to have a slash line like that over just 16 games is impressive.
Bregman has been one of the major centerpieces in the Astros’ run of success since winning the World Series in 2017.
He was an MVP candidate in 2019 and has been to the World Series three out of five seasons.
But being a dad seems to have worked its magic of late, as he’s been rolling ever since then.
We’ll see if he can keep it up for the remainder of the season.
You can’t bet against a guy like him.
