The 2022 season has been magical for St. Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols.
In his farewell tour, he gets to play for the team that made him famous and the city he called home for a whole decade in the 2000s.
In addition to that, he is playing one last postseason and seeking a third World Series championship: that would certainly send him out in style.
Needing 21 home runs to become the fourth player of the 700-homer club, he hit 23.
Yes, that’s right: he now has 702 blasts.
On top of it all, he also tied baseball legend Babe Ruth in a noteworthy stat: Runs Batted In, or RBI.
“Legend. HR 702 is career RBI no. 2,214 for Pujols!,” Fox Sports MLB tweeted.
Legend. 👏🙌

Those 2,214 RBI tied Ruth’s tally over his glorious career.
An Incredible RBI Tally For One Of The Greatest Ever To Play The Game
If Pujols gets one more RBI, he will take sole possession of second place among run producers in the history of the game.
Only Henry Aaron has more, with 2,297.
If he played another season, perhaps Pujols could have a shot at taking down Aaron’s mark, but he would probably need more than that.
As incredible as it sounds, Pujols is also on the top-ten historical list in hits, with 3,380.
He is tenth, right behind Carl Yastrzemski and ahead of Paul Molitor.
Pujols is a true legend of the game, the best Latino player ever to take the field and one of the best right-handed hitters in the history of the game.
He deserves every recognition he gets because of his incredible work ethic.
That work ethic led him to have a beautiful career with lots of awards and accomplishments.
