The St. Louis Cardinals wrapped up a five-game series with the Chicago Cubs this afternoon.
It will be their final pass through Wrigley Field this season.
That also means that it’s the final time we’ll ever see Yadier Molina and Albert Pujols at Wrigley Field, as both stars have announced their retirements after this season.
As has been the case this year when the Cardinals have gone on the road, the opposing teams have had pregame ceremonies to honor both Cards legends.
The Cubs did just that this afternoon, with David Ross and former Cardinal Jason Heyward presenting Pujols and Molina with gifts prior to the start of the game.
Pujols and Molina each received No. 5 and No. 4 from the Wrigley Field scoreboard, respectively.

Pujols, Yadi Honored At Wrigley
This is a great way to honor some legends.
It’s hard to believe that this is the last time Pujols and Molina will be at Wrigley Field.
The same could also be true for Adam Wainwright, who hasn’t officially announced his retirement, but has hinted at it multiple times this season.
We do know for sure that Pujols and Molina will be done after this season, but the Cubs made a classy gesture today when honoring the two Cards legends.
This is a trend that will keep happening each time the Cardinals visit a city for the last time this season, and it’s nice to see other teams pay their respects to some of the greatest players of all time, players who are surefire first-ballot Hall-of-Famers.
As has been said before, the only thing that’ll make this even sweeter for these two legends is if the Cardinals win it all this October and send them off with a ring.
