The Baltimore Orioles‘ surprise run back into contention has been fun to watch for many baseball fans.
Unfortunately, they are now eliminated from postseason contention, but that doesn’t take away from some of the more exciting moments that have taken place in Birdland.
The emergence of top catching prospect Adley Rutschman has been a huge shot in the arm for the Orioles.
The 24-year-old catcher is a Rookie of the Year candidate in the American League and has already achieved a major honor for the 2022 season.
The Orioles announced that Rutschman was voted the most valuable Oriole for the 2022 season by Baltimore media members.
An impact player since the jump 👏

Rutschman Wins Most Valuable Oriole
It may not get him the Rookie of the Year Award, but this is certainly a great honor.
Rutschman is one of the main reasons why the Orioles have found themselves back in postseason contention.
He’s just one of many young studs to have made their marks on the Orioles this season and ignite some hope for 2023 and beyond.
He’s hit .254 so far this season with 13 homers, 42 RBI, and an .809 OPS.
It’s at least enough to get him recognized as an important member of the Orioles roster by local media members.
The future appears bright for Rutschman, and he’ll certainly be in the running for the AL Rookie of the Year Award.
For now, being the Most Valuable Oriole will do just fine.
There’s a reason why people in Baltimore are so excited about him and the future of the team.
He’ll help usher in a new era of Orioles baseball and hope to return the O’s to where they were back in the mid 2010s, when they reached the postseason three out of five years.
