Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman took the league by storm last year.
The O’s were 16-24 when they called him up in late May.
With him leading the way, handling a very young pitching staff and hitting extra-bases and taking walks left and right, Baltimore finished 83-79 and actually competed for a playoff spot.
They didn’t get in, but they showed the world that they are very, very promising and could return to the postseason this year or next.
Rutschman was elite on many levels.
In a recent video, however, he has also shown elite social and drinking skills.

Before you criticize the fact that Rutschman is drinking alcohol, he is doing it in a controlled setting and engaging with fans.
For many O’s supporters, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience: getting to drink a beer with the franchise catcher.
Rutschman seemed to be having a good time, but fans were ecstatic, too.
Rutschman is, in many ways, a franchise savior.
The first pick of the 2019 MLB Draft, he appears headed to a nice, long career that could take him to All-Star Games, personal accolades, and even the Hall of Fame one day.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
All O’s fans want is to watch their team compete, and as long as they have Rutschman behind the plate, they will be competitive.
He was one of the best framers of the 2022 season, he slugged 35 doubles and 13 home runs, he had a .362 OBP, and was 33 percent better than the league average hitter.
If the rest of his career will be as successful as his 2022 performance, O’s fans are in for a treat.NEXT: MLB Fans Are Given A Tough Adley Rutschman Question
