The race for the American League Rookie of the Year Award has reached its end and Julio Rodriguez has been crowned the winner.
In the end, it was a landslide.
Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman finished in a distant second with Steven Kwan of the Cleveland Guardians finishing third in the race.
Rutschman only received one first-place vote.
Interestingly though, that vote did not come from an Orioles writer.
In fact, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, that vote actually came from a Toronto Blue Jays writer.
The complete voting breakdown can be found in the tweet featured below.

Rutschman Has Support From Unlikely Source
On one note, it’s sad that the Orioles’ writers did not vote for Rutschman to win the Rookie of the Year Award.
On the other hand, it’s surprising that a Blue Jays writer actually provided the lone first-place vote for the young catcher.
The Blue Jays and Orioles are obviously AL East division rivals, so one most likely would not expect an Oriole to get much support from Blue Jays writers.
Ultimately, it made no difference, as Rodriguez essentially ran away with the award.
But Rutschman certainly had a solid season.
The 24-year-old hit .254 with 13 home runs and 42 RBI.
He also posted an OPS of .807, had 49 extra-base hits, and tallied 177 total bases.
Rutschman was called up in late May and made his debut on May 21.
The Orioles soon began to play better baseball and even found themselves right in the thick of the Wild Card race in the month of September.
