The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs won their respective conference championship games yesterday to reach the Super Bowl, which will take place on Sunday, February 12.
It just so happens that the following day is the day that pitchers and catchers will report to spring training.
And a certain pitcher also happened to predict what the Super Bowl matchup would be.
Hours before kickoff in the NFC Championship Game, right-hander Adam Wainwright predicted that both the Eagles and Chiefs would come out on top.
After the Chiefs emerged victorious, the St. Louis Cardinals star reacted to his previous tweet with the muscle emoji to celebrate making the correct predictions.

Wainwright is a smart man.
The veteran right-hander’s prediction became reality.
Now, the Chiefs and Eagles will match up in the 57th Super Bowl.
He’s best known for his dominance on the mound and his ability to fool hitters with his signature curveball.
But off the field, he’s proven to be an avid football fan who enjoys the NFL playoffs, as well as the Super Bowl.
Wainwright saw it coming.
He knew the Eagles and Chiefs would come out on top in their respective games yesterday.
And as he prepares for his final season in Major League Baseball, he’ll have a chance to enjoy the Super Bowl before he reports to spring training one last time.
Oddly enough, Super Bowl Sunday serves as a perfect springboard from football to baseball.
After the big game is over, it will be time to get ready for the 2023 season.
