It’s been a whirlwind this past week for St. Louis Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright.
The veteran right-hander tested positive for COVID-19 last week in San Francisco and had yet to clear all of the protocols in time to make his scheduled start for Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles.
However, Wainwright has tested out of the protocols and is on track to make a start on Saturday or Sunday against the San Francisco Giants.
He was back in the Cardinals dugout yesterday and even made an appearance at Game 6 of the St. Louis Blues’ first-round playoff series with the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night.
Bally Sports Midwest, the local TV home of the Cardinals and Blues, tweeted a video of Wainwright, donning a Jordan Binnington jersey and beating the drum at the Enterprise Center, hyping up the crowd.

Mr. St. Louis
Wainwright is a man of the people.
The city of St. Louis absolutely adores this man and appreciates everything he does for the community.
The Cardinals are lucky to have him coming back shortly and the fans in St. Louis are absolutely stoked about it.
But of course, he had to celebrate testing out of the protocols by making an appearance at the Blues game.
St. Louis may not be a marquee sports town like New York, Boston, or Los Angeles, but the fanbase is just as passionate.
The Cardinals and Blues for many years have had a strong working relationship and have shown solidarity with one another.
It’s good to see this relationship continue to grow and it’s great to see Wainwright healthy again, showing up to the Enterprise Center and hyping up the entire city.
Wainwright is somebody the entire city can rally around, and he’ll continue to be that guy for as long as he’s around.
