Adam Wainwright wasn’t quite as sharp as he normally is last night.
But he and fellow St. Louis Cardinals legend Yadier Molina still found a way to get the job done.
Last night was their 325th start together as a battery, which breaks the record set by Mickey Lolich and Bill Freehan for the most starts together by a single pitcher-catcher battery.
The two of them made history in style too, with the first pitch of the game being taken by Christian Yelich for a strike.
At that moment, Busch Stadium erupted as a graphic was shown on the scoreboard, commemorating their accomplishment.

Waino, Yadi Make History
Wainwright and Molina have been through everything together.
The two of them closed out the 2006 NLCS and World Series together, and that was before Wainwright was even made a starter.
Fast forward 16 years later, and the two of them are the most accomplished battery in baseball history.
Earlier in the season, they broke the record for most wins as a battery.
Now, they can lay claim to the record for most starts.
What made the moment even cooler was that Yelich took the first pitch for a strike and let the two Cards legends have their moment, where the fans gave them a nice warm hand.
Ultimately, Wainwright lasted five innings and held the Milwaukee Brewers to just one run, earning his 11th win of what could very well be his final season in the big leagues.
Molina and Albert Pujols will be retiring at the end of the season.
But for now, Cardinals fans should enjoy the moment they got to experience last night, as should Molina and Wainwright.
History has been made.
