The New York Jets were dealt a devastating blow to their 2023 NFL season when superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with an Achilles injury in the season-opening game against the Buffalo Bills.
As of right now, Rodgers is expected to miss the rest of the 2023 campaign because it takes quite some time to recover from an Achilles tear, and some professional athletes never fully regain their form, especially at an advanced age, like Rodgers, who will turn 40 in December.
Although the expectation is that Rodgers won’t play another game for the Jets this season, the four-time NFL MVP didn’t rule out the chance that he will recover from the injury and get back in the mix for a playoff run.
Rodgers made an appearance on The “Pat McAfee Show” and talked about his current situation and used former NBA star Kevin Garnett’s famous quote when asked about whether a return this season is out of the question, via Jets Videos.

With so many advances in the medical field every single year, it isn’t beyond the realm of possibility that Rodgers can make a miraculous comeback and get back on the gridiron sooner rather than later.
However, all signs point to Rodgers being on the mend for the rest of the 2023 campaign and more than likely healthy and ready to get back to work in time for the start of the 2024 NFL season.
Even though the Jets have moved on without Rodgers and will likely bring in another quarterback to help shoulder the load under center with Zach Wilson, the future Hall of Famer’s status will be monitored for the rest of the season.
