Aaron Judge might be the biggest name out on the free agent market right now.
With free agency set to begin this evening at 5 p.m. Eastern Time, things are about to get exciting.
Judge will certainly have several teams battling it out for his services after a historic season in which he broke the single-season American League home run record as a member of the New York Yankees.
The Yankees will certainly be in on the sweepstakes.
But based on comments by Judge’s agent, Scott Boras, it may take a while before the slugger signs with a team.
When asked about the possibility of Judge signing early, Boras replied by saying, “I would not be the judge of that.”

When Will Judge Sign?
Of course, these comments should be taken with a grain of salt.
This does not mean Judge will not sign somewhere soon.
At the same time, Judge said prior to the start of the season that he would be listening to several teams’ offers this offseason, with the Yankees being one of those teams.
Judge is a Bay Area native, so it’s always possible that he could sign with the San Francisco Giants in order to be closer to home.
Either way, it will likely take some time before Judge ultimately signs a new deal.
There will be several teams in on the sweepstakes, and Judge will need time to decide which offer suits him best.
Still, it may not take too long.
It just likely won’t happen early on.
