Aaron Judge finally hit home run No. 50 last night.
The New York Yankees slugger connected on a 1-1 pitch from Los Angeles Angels reliever Ryan Tepera and sent it over the left field wall to put the Yankees to within a run.
Judge hit 52 home runs in his rookie campaign in 2017, but this time, Judge has reached the 50-homer mark before the month of September.
He is only the second player in Yankees history to have reached that mark before September.
The first was Roger Maris back in 1961, who hit his 51st home run prior to the start of September on his way to 61 total for the season.
Aaron Judge is the 2nd player in AL history to hit 50+ HR before September.
The other was Roger Maris in 1961 (51).

Judge Makes History
This is quite an accomplishment by Judge.
At this point, we’ve all seen what he’s been doing this year.
Everybody knows that he’s the clear-cut favorite to win the AL MVP Award.
Last night was just further proof of that.
He’s been on a record pace ever since the start of the season and has been the one carrying the load for this Yankees ballclub, even in the midst of all of their struggles.
It’s no secret that the month of August has been one to forget for the Yankees, who went from having baseball’s best record to having their lead in the AL East cut down to seven games with just over a month to go.
But at the very least, Judge has remained on pace for history and has been the saving grace for the Bronx Bombers in the midst of everything that has gone wrong in August.
Judge continues to impress and carry this Yankees team.
Now, we’ll see if he can reach 60 home runs with just a month left in the season.
